With this itinerary, you will have a chance to see both the part of the city which lies outside the medieval walls built from the 19th century and Como’s Neoclassical villas.
Our walk starts from the Villa Olmo with its ornate garden and magnificent views of the lake and town. We continue along lakeside promenade past the many magnificent neoclassical villas. Further on, we see the modern recreational area of Como with its Rationalist style buildings. We also visit the so-called “Voltian Temple” which houses a small museum dedicated to Como’s most illustrious citizen, Alessandro Volta, the great scientist who invented the battery.
