A funicular ride to Brunate, a hill-top town with magnificent views over Como, the lake and its surrounding mountains.

The ride lasts just seven minutes as the funicular railway climbs steeply up the mountainside. Brunate was a popular tourist resort during the early part of the 20th century, particularly with the nearby Milanese aristocracy. We return to the lakeside to embark on a boat (public or private) for a cruise of the southernmost part of the lake, admiring the many villas and gardens that dot the shoreline as we sail.
