The northern part of Lake Como is, like the rest of the lake, very scenic but slightly more “off the beaten track”.

Our itinerary takes us to visit Gravedona on the north - western coastline, once a very important town from a religious point of view. We visit a true gem of Romanesque architecture, the church of Santa Maria del Tiglio with its octagonal shaped bell tower strikingly placed in the middle of its façade.

We then take a stroll along the lakeside promenade and town lanes. After lunch, we visit the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie which is in a prominent position above the town with wonderful views across the lake. This church used to belong to Agostinian monks during the Renaissance period – the wooden beamed arches and magnificent frescos date back to that period.
